§ 2-5. Register of deeds

  • (a) Destruction of obsolete documents. The register of deeds is authorized to destroy all obsolete documents pertaining to chattels antedating six years, including final books of entry.

    (b) Cut-off reception time for filing and recording documents. Pursuant to Wis. Stats. § 59.51, the cut-off reception time for the filing and recording of all documents in the register of deeds' office shall be 3:30 p.m. Any documents received after 3:30 p.m. shall be filed, recorded and entered on the next business day.
