§ 22-93. Services and activities

  • This center shall be responsible for the following services and activities:

    (1) Collaborative and cooperative services with public health and other groups for programs of prevention and treatment of mental illness and other emotional disorders, mental retardation and other developmental disabilities, alcoholism and other drug abuses.

    (2) Comprehensive diagnostic and evaluation services.

    (3) By agreement, contracting out or through directly administered programs: inpatient and outpatient care and treatment, residential facilities, partial hospitalization, pre-care, after-care, emergency care, rehabilitation and habilitation services and supportive transitional services.

    (4) Professional consultation to educational, legal, health and welfare programs, both public and private.

    (5) Public informational and educational services.

    (6) Appropriate research and in-service training programs for the board and program staff members.

    (7) Any program needs deemed necessary or desirable for persons in the five counties suffering from mental disability, including but not limited to mental illness and other emotional disorders, mental retardation and other developmental disabilities, alcoholism and other drug abuse.

    (8) Continuous planning, development and evaluation of programs and services for such mentally disabled persons in all population groups and their families.

    (9) All services and program activities previously authorized by these county boards under the provisions of Wis. Stats. § 51.38.

    (10) Such other services as may be permitted under Wis. Stats. § 51.42, and any amendments thereto, and the rules and regulations of the state department of health and social services.
