§ 2-121. Code of conduct

  • (a) Standards.

    (1) County board members shall conduct themselves in such manner as not to bring dishonor upon themselves and the board.

    (2) Members will act in a civil manner in the conduct of their duties. Verbal exchanges between members at official meetings shall always be courteous and proper.

    (b) Procedures.

    (1) The chair may convene the ethics committee, which shall report findings to the executive committee (the vice-chair if the chair is involved).

    (2) The executive committee shall rule on all charges of conduct unbecoming of a member and may recommend to the full county board corrective action.

    (3) The executive committee may report to the entire board its findings and may recommend disciplinary action, if any, on all charges of conduct unbecoming.
